I welcome the crazy! In fact it is the crazy that makes the best photos. I love the energy of a toddler figuring out life. It is so cool to watch and document different seasons of life. From the crazy early years to the teens I love it all. Family is everything. Don’t forget to document it all!
Are photos important? While they are not as important as, say food and shelter, they should rank high on your priority list. The value of a photo goes up the moment it is created. You might not always see the full value immediately. A photograph is like a fine wine that takes time to develop. In a photograph, you can pause a moment that you may have otherwise have forgotten.
The photographs you see below were taken a few years ago. Carl and Gayle became clients and quick friends after I photographed their grandsons' senior portraits. They lived in downtown Denver right on the 16th street mall in an amazing condo. Carl was a psychologist and had an office walking distance from their front door.
Carl passed away a few months ago and as I was revisiting the photo shoot I realized the value of these photos now. Carl is gone but a piece of him remains. Photos of him doing some of his favorite things, with his favorite person, in his favorite city. I hope you enjoy the photos and catch a glimpse of the value of photography.
I encourage you. Take out your camera today, and take some photos of those you love. Or call me and I can get you set up.
Rest in Peace Carl.
I have known Hannah and Andy for several years. Hannah and I used to work together at My Wedding.com and my wife Arissa has known their families even longer. A couple of months ago I did a promotion on Facebook and they were the lucky winners of a free mini shoot. I was so pleased when their name was drawn. I love their hearts for Jesus and family. At first their daughter wasn't so sure about the lights and the camera but I was able to eventually use a few tricks to get everyone to engage.
Life over the past year has been so full. I like to call it the crazy good life. So much crazy and so much good. With all that has been going on, I have managed to neglect this blog. So I wanted to post some photos from shoots over the last year to let you know I am still working as a photographer.
Looking back at all these photos I am reminded how blessed I am to be a part of all these lives. I will be posting some more updates here so please check in and if you need any photos taken feel free to get in touch.

I am going through some previous shoots today to freshen up the blog. There was a lot of stuff I never posted because of the day job. I came across these photos of our friend Tate Boitsheopo Van Winkle. She is now serving the Peace Corps in Botswana, Africa. Before she left my wife Arissa and I had some precious hang out time and we were able to do a little photo shoot with her. Enjoy Adam
